Somewhere between life with a toddler, running a business, and leading an incredible group of women entrepreneurs, I watched my schedule spiral completely out of control. Time seemed like something I never had enough of… until recently.
A few weeks ago the Lord gave me fresh revelation and insight into HIS world. God does not operate on our time. He is eternal. He existed before anything was. He is the beginning and the end. He sees it all, controls it all, and rules over it all. Nothing slips through His fingertips and nothing is out of His reach. Time does not confine Him. As believers in Jesus Christ, we know we’ll be with Him forever in eternity. Eternity… as in never ending… as in an unlimited amount of time! When we leave this life, we’ll transition into the next. All our problems, struggles, and insecurities will fade in light of our great King. In light of eternity, even our most devastating trials are temporary. Our problems won’t follow us into Heaven, so why carry them like luggage in this life?
This week, the Lord reminded me to travel light. To empty my suitcase of its weights and worries and to live with an eternity-minded perspective. I’ll be saying no to a few pretty good things in order to make room for a lot more GOD things. If you struggle with not having enough time to accomplish everything on your plate, I’d like to encourage you to hand your calendar over to the Lord. He wants to be part of every detail of your day and has amazing plans for your life!
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” -Jeremiah 29:11-13
